Pianist/composer Peter Madsen has worked with a variety of world-renowned musicians ranging from traditionalists like Benny Golson and Stanley Turrentine to modern jazz players like Joe Lovano and Kenny Garrett to funk masters like Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker. Many of his more than 70 appearances on record also include regular work with Playscape mainstays Mario Pavone and Michael Musillami. His Playscape debut as a leader, and first-ever solo piano recording, 2003’s Sphere Essence: Another Side of Monk, earned him widespread critical acclaim and inclusion on best of the year lists in Coda and AllAboutJazz-New York.
